Starting the Year

Cyzarine sat patiently at the Ravenclaw Table, waiting for the start-of-year feast to begin. It was the one feast that she had attended every year so far - though since this was only her sixth it wasn't that much of an achievement. Still, she liked to think of it as a sort-of tradition...and it was certainly a bonus that the Sorting was there to entertain her.
Glancing round at the Great Hall apreciatively, a small smile crept onto her face, as she took in her surroundings and fellow students. She'd never get tired of this, she decided.

Cyzarine sighed quietly, glancing round the hall once more. She was now bored, and had become tired of listening to the conversations of those around her. It really was depressing.
She glanced up slightly as the first years trailed in, one looking rather wet. She smiled slightly, her heart warming for the pre-destined outcast. So which house would he be outcast from...?
Cyzarine waited patiently, her interest in the Sorting restored. Perhaps she would have been more amused had she sat at the Gryffindor or Slytherin table, but as she was the Ravenclaw outcast, she chose to sit with her 'house-mates'.
Biting back a small snort of laughter at this thought, Cyzarine turned her attention to Professor Dumbledore as he stood up and began his pre-Sorting speech.

Leanne trooped into the Great Hall, just behind the first years, and sat herself down at the Slytherin Table. She threw her bag at the ground beside her feet and began making conversation with the sixth year next to her, Mandrew Gray.

She glanced over at Cyzarine and smirked.

"Did you have good hollidays? Didn't get any howlers, by any chance, did you?"

Cyzarine lowered her eyes to her plate, trying to ignore the Slytherin girl. Maybe I should stop coming to the Sortings... Shaking her ehad slightly, Cyzarine looked back at Dumbledore, having successfully halted the blush burning up her cheeks at mention of the howler.

Satisfied, Leanne turned away, smiling to herself.

She continued to watch the Sortings.

As soon as the Feast had finished, Cyzarine was up and off towards Ravenclaw Tower. What does the world have against me...? she wondered as she retreated.

Leanne heaved her bag of schoolbooks onto her shoulders and followed the other students as they trooped out of the Great Hall to their dormitories.

She could spot Cyzarine just ahead through the crowd. A wicked thought swept through her mind. She slipped through the mass of students and began to follow Cyzarine to the Ravenclaw Common Room, taking out a fist-sized water bomb from her bag as she did so.

CYzarine continued walking, weaving through the crowd. Today can only end badly, I just know it...

"Moley Plant," Leanne stated.

She had reached the portrait of Sir Ector Godlyhead, Hogwarts' first Herbology teacher. Sir Ector bowed his head and, with a gesture of his hand, the portrait swung open.

Leanne slipped her schoolbag off her shoulders and dumped it in the narrow passage she had just entered. It was dark and cold. Leanne had discovered the portrait and it's password in her third year. She had been the only student to enter it for fifteen years, so Sir Ector Godlyhead had told her.

She took out her wand from inside her robes.

"Lumos!" she whispered.

The wand tip ignited. Holding the wand high above her head, she made her way down the passage, the heavy water bomb in her other hand. She knew the passage well now. And she also knew that it was a shortcut to the narrow corridor leading to the Ravenclaw Common Room. She would catch Cyzarine off guard.

Cyzarine continued walking, glancing round warily. She frowned, a nagging feeling errupting in the back of her mind. Maybe I'll just take the long way round...Better safe tha sorry, I guess...

Leanne waited in the passagway. She could see the corridor leading to the Ravenclaw Common Room from where she sat. But where was Cyzarine...?

Cyzarine glanced round the corner, her eyes widening slightly when she saw Leanne sat waiting - presumably for her, considering the howler jab in the Feast. She moved back and bit her lip, wondering what to do about the Slytherin, while at the same time thanking her powers. Well, I'm certainly not going to walk past there for a shower. I'd rather wait.
Sighing sadly, Cyzarine walked the other way, aware that Leanne probably wouldn't hang aorund for too long.

Leanne sighed and continued to twirl a strand of hair around her finger. When boredom eventually got the better of her, she got to her feet, retrieved her bag and left the secret passageway.
